The Pocket Bitcoin security incident revealed 5411 client records

Pocket Bitcoin stated on 3 September that its security incident in August had exposed personal and financial information to 5411 clients, broadening the scope of its initial disclosure. Following the completion of the forensic investigation, the Swiss service provider for bitcoin identified two different client groups, one containing bank transaction information for 5120 clients and the other with more sensitive records for 291 clients. The larger group of clients includes lists of transactions sent to Pocket Bitcoin by cooperative banks during compliance checks, which include the name of the customer, address of residence, amount of money transferred and date of transaction. Pocket Bitcoin has separately contacted affected clients to provide detailed information on their cases. It stated that the attackers had failed to disrupt their primary customer or transaction databases and that the records were from backups stored in the affected support systems. Pocket Bitcoin currently has no indication that the information revealed has been abused。
