The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed to have attacked and destroyed two “violated ships”

On 14 October, local time, according to the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran, two foreign tankers illegally entered the waters in question and shut down the navigational system, in defiance of repeated Iranian navigational warnings near the Strait of Hormuz, seriously endangering the safety of navigation. The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations, took the necessary measures to dispose of the above-mentioned “violated vessels” in accordance with the law, and the tankers are now under attack and destroyed. At the same time, Iran states that the safety and smooth access of the Strait of Hormuz is essential to the global energy supply and that the Iraqi side will continue to guarantee normal navigation in the Strait in accordance with the law, while resolutely confronting any illegal act that threatens the security of the area. The Iranian authorities have conducted further investigations into the circumstances of the incident and will publish more information in due course. (observed)
