United States Senator: Congress alone can grant the CFTC spot control over digital assets, and the Clarity Act is the only viable way forward

On 14 July, United States Senator Cynthia Lummis stated that no administrative rule would give the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regulatory authority over the digital asset spot market, nor would it give new sanctions to its opponents, much less to protect developers from undue prosecution. Only Congress could do so, and the Clarity Act was the only viable way to achieve those goals。
