The United States Association of Federal Law Enforcement Officials supported the Clarity Act, but called for the strengthening of the DeFi accountability clause

On 14 July, Cointelegraph reported that the United States Clarity Act had received public support from the second leading law enforcement organization before the Senate adjourned in August. On 10 July, the Federal Association of Law Enforcement Officials sent a letter to the Senate Banking Commission in support of the bill, calling for the amendment of the DeFi safeguard to enhance accountability, clarify the decentrization of responsibility in the financial system and prevent enterprises from avoiding regulation in the name of decentrization. The bill had previously been supported by the National Association of Black Law Enforcement Organizations Executive, and two letters had helped to counter the argument that it weakened the Government ' s ability to combat crimes of encryption. The Federal Association of Law Enforcement Officials, however, still requires that the scope of DeFi's protection be narrowed, that the words “specific intent” be changed to facilitate the identification of responsibility, and that the bill do not restrict existing federal investigative powers. Four law enforcement organizations had previously written to the White House in June to express their concerns about article 604。
