The United States Chamber of Commerce opposes the pentagon stock buy-back and bonus restrictions
The United States Chamber of Commerce and 40 business groups sent a letter to Senate leaders requesting the removal of a clause in the Defence Authorization Bill that would restrict the use of the Pentagon contractor to repurchase shares and pay dividends. This clause requires the contractor to obtain the approval of the Ministry of Defence before conducting these operations. The Chamber of Commerce indicated that this provision would have an unprecedented impact on tens of thousands of companies working with the Pentagon and could result in the transfer of responsibility for capital allocation decisions from the corporate leadership to the Government. This provision was adopted by the Senate Armed Services Committee and is expected to be considered by the Senate this week。
