Apple claims that the technology was stolen
On 15 July, in a commercial confidential suit against Apple, OpenAI stated that the company “did not find any evidence to justify the allegations” and emphasized respect for fair competition, support for the free movement of talent and the current focus on the autonomous development of innovative technologies. The Apple Promulgation stated that OpenAI had been used by former Apple employees to obtain business secrets of the company in order to build the AI hardware product, and that the OpenAi hardware team had induced candidates to carry inside Apple information and helped circumvent company security clearances. A former iPhone engineer who left the service to OpenAI this year was also accused of illegally obtaining internal documents such as a project presentation. According to Apple, the OpenAI hardware team was “established on an unstable basis” and even “done from the roots”。
