542,377 Americans warned of hacker attacks on New Jersey Medical Corporation

Centers Laboratory, a medical company in New Jersey, was exposed to major cyber-security incidents that could lead to the exposure of 542,377 individuals to personal and medical records. According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, the incident was reported as “a hacker/IT incident”. In a circular published on its website, the company states that unauthorized entities have their systematic access rights and have stolen data that may include the date of birth of the patient, the driver ' s licence or state identity card, the social security number, the passport number and health insurance and medical records. Centers Laboratory stated that on 25 August 2025 they discovered suspicious activities in its IT environment and quickly isolated the affected systems and initiated investigations with third-party forensic experts. The survey revealed that unauthorized actors obtained limited access to the data between 9 August and 14 August 2025 and copied the data. The company is now urging affected individuals to make use of a free credit report obtained annually from the three major credit reporting institutions (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion)。
