The Fed Williams claims that monetary policy is well placed to achieve the dual mission objectives
On 7 July, in an interview with John Williams, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, reiterated his view that monetary policy was well placed to achieve the Federal Reserve ' s dual mission. With regard to the labour market, he indicated that he had seen stable and solid growth. While acknowledging that inflation is still too high, he said: “I am indeed somewhat more optimistic about the near-term outlook for inflation, as we will see a fall in energy prices.”
