KOREAN MINISTER OF SCIENCE: SOVEREIGN AI FOR CYBER SECURITY WILL BE LAUNCHED THIS YEAR

On 16 July, Korean science minister Pei Kyung-hoon indicated that, in response to growing security threats in the digital field, Korea would introduce a sovereign artificial intelligence (AI) model focused on cybersecurity by the end of the year. Previously, the United States suddenly imposed export controls on advanced AI models, including “Mythos 5”, under the banner of Anthropic, which specializes in the detection of loopholes, creating an increasing burden on digital security. In a policy briefing held at Blue Watteh under the chairmanship of President Lee of the Republic of Korea, Pei Kyung-hoon said: “We are working to build an AI model focused on cybersecurity during the year by training our existing Sovereign AI model using security-related data.” Kim Xian
