India has suspended the deployment of seafarers to ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz

The General Directorate of Shipping of India announced that, as a result of the surge in attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, the shipowners, ship management companies and crew recruitment agencies were required to suspend the deployment of Indian seafarers to ships sailing through the Strait until further notice. Recently, as hostilities escalated between Iran and the United States, there were successive attacks on ships in the Straits of Hormuz and the surrounding maritime areas, one of which resulted in the death of an Indian seaman. According to estimates by the International Chamber of Shipping and the International Chamber of Shipping of the Baltic Sea Sea International, India has more than 310,000 seafarers working on merchant ships, making India the second largest supplier of seamen worldwide。
