Japan proposes to purchase 275,000 British Rubin chips to develop a local robotic AI model

Japan plans to purchase 27.5 million next-generation Rubin chips for the development of indigenous basic robotic AI models. The newly established Noetra company has received funding of 38.7 billion yen from government finances to consolidate the project and build a large data centre. This plan is part of a series of initiatives by the Government of Japan to reduce reliance on foreign technology and strengthen national security. Noetra plans to release the first AI model by March next year and to keep it up to date. Hironobu Tamba, President of Noetra, stated that the long-term goal was to introduce an AI model for robotic applications in the coming years. The goal of the Government of Japan is to occupy more than 30 per cent of the world ' s approximately 60 trillion yen robotics market by 2040。
