Iran: The Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened due to US pressure

On 16 July, local time, on 16 July, the Iranian Embassy in Lebanon issued a statement stating that the Strait of Hormuz would not be reopened as a result of United States pressure, but only on “Iranian terms”. The statement stated that the United States should accept this reality and that there were only two ways to resolve the problem, namely, to compel it to comply with “the conditions set by Iran” through dialogue or acceptance of Iranian military force.
