REPORTS THAT AI REVENUES HAVE REACHED A CRITICAL POINT TO BEGIN TO JUSTIFY INVESTMENT IN DATA CENTRES
On 16 July, the Institute's Exponential View report showed that revenues from AI had reached a critical point, suggesting that the investment of hundreds of billions of dollars by technology companies in this area could be economically sustainable. The report shows that the global AI sales revenue from mega-crowded cloud service providers and emerging cloud service providers amounted to $25 billion, exceeding the industry ' s estimated depreciation cost associated with investment in data centres and chips by $21 billion for the second consecutive quarter. This milestone indicates that AI's revenues are beginning to cover the cost of its capital expenditures, but the profit space remains thin。
