Federal Reserve Survey, New York: highest inflation expectations for the next year since September 2023
On 7 July, the Federal Reserve Consumer Expectation Survey in New York showed that consumer expectations for the coming year had risen to 3.67 per cent in June, up from 3.46 per cent in the previous month. According to the June survey, inflation for the next year is expected to rise to its highest rate since September 2023; inflation for the next three years is expected to rise to 3.3 per cent, the highest rate since 2022; income growth for the next year is expected to rise to 2.8 per cent, the highest rate since March 2025; the United States stock price trend for the next year is expected to rise to its highest since April 2021; and consumers are expected to increase by 1.5 per cent the price of gasoline, 5 per cent the price of food, 9.4 per cent the cost of health care, 5.7 per cent the cost of university education and 8.3 per cent the rent。
