BLOOMBERG ETF ANALYST: IN JUNE, THE UNITED STATES HAD A RECORD 242 ETFS ON THE MARKET, OR OVER 1450 IN 2026
On platform X, Pembo Senior ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas said that the U.S. ETF market was expanding through an unprecedented expansion, with a total of 242 ETFs launched in June this year, making a single-month release record, equivalent to about 11 new items a day. The number of new ETFs has reached 730 in the first half of 2026, but at the current rate, it may exceed 1450 for the whole year, and will be substantially updated last year. Eric Balchunas is particularly concerned with the radical expansionist strategy of the emerging distributor, Corgi. According to the data, the number of ETFs launched by Corgi in June was more than 100, and is now in the sixth place of ETF distributors. If the current distribution rhythm continues (the company currently has about 350 ETFs at the registration stage), Corgi is likely to surpass BlackRock by the end of this year and become the largest market issuer of ETFs. Balchunas states that Belet has spent more than 20 years building an ETF line of this size, and that Corgi may have reached a similar scale in less than a year. However, the increase in volume does not mean that the scale of the funds will rise simultaneously. Currently, the ETF component under the Corgi flag has attracted a certain inflow of funds, but most products are still in the market breeding stage. The average size of its ETF portfolio is about $4 million, while the average size of the entire ETF industry is about $3 billion, and Corgi still faces a huge asset attraction challenge. Corgi's large-scale distribution strategy is “very bold” and its rapid expansion has undoubtedly become one of the most interesting phenomena in the ETF market today。
