Kraken is going to apply for a European bank licence in Lithuania
On 8 July, Kraken, the encryption exchange, is seeking to obtain a full-scale bank licence in Europe, focusing on Lithuania as an applicant jurisdiction. If approved, Kraken will be the only encrypted exchange that holds that license, following the path of the financial technology giant Revolut - The latter, issued in 2018 by the Central Bank of Lithuania with a European professional bank licence, provides current accounts, consumer loans and stock exchange services. The Kraken parent company Payward has also recently been granted access to the Fed's payment infrastructure in the United States and has been authorized by the United Arab Emirates' VRA to continue to advance the global compliance landscape。
