United States official: Iranian missile fire at Saudi American base

On 17 local time, according to United States sources, United States officials revealed that Iran had launched a ballistic missile at a United States military base in Saudi Arabia, which, according to the media, was the first direct strike by Iran against Saudi Arabia in almost four months. At the same time, the Saudi Civil Defence Service issued an early warning to the Saudis on 18 January to alert the population of the “potential danger”, but subsequently indicated that the danger had been defused.
