The issuer of a stable currency abroad, Tether, is required to comply with the requirements of the Genius Act
Foreign stabilizers such as Tether may need to meet the requirements of the Genius Act by July 2028, or face the risk of losing their qualifications on the United States Centralized Exchange. Compliance requirements may include registration with the United States Monetary Supervisory Authority (OCC), compliance with United States freezing and seizure orders, and adjustment of the USDT reserve structure. The implementing regulations have not yet been finalized by the federal regulatory bodies。
