Hackers attacked the Kenyan presidential network and demanded five bitcoin ransoms
On 21 July, the Government of Kenya is investigating a hacker attack on the official website of President William Ruto. On 18 July, the attackers briefly tampered with the President ' s website and demanded payment of five BTC ransoms, otherwise undisclosed data would be disclosed. The Minister of Information, Communication and Digital Economy of Kenya indicated that the Government had launched a cyber-security response mechanism and had jointly conducted forensic investigations with relevant agencies. There is no evidence of unauthorized access to or disclosure of sensitive data, and government digital services remain operational。
