Senior Iranian official: We have the option of closing the Strait of Mande

On 8 July, according to the Iranian media Fars News, the spokesman for the National Security Committee of the Iranian Parliament, Rezai, stated: “In future confrontations, the enemy will face a full and sudden Iranian blow. Iran has many options that have not been used in the 40-day war, including withdrawal from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, revision of the “nuclear strategic doctrine” and the blockade of the Mandeh Strait outside the Holmuz Strait. A proposal to withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons has been prepared for consideration in Parliament, and a revision of the “nuclear strategic doctrine” could be on the agenda if Iran faced a threat to its survival.”
