Trump warns Houthi that if the Red Sea is blocked, the United States will “act”

On 22 July, according to American media reports, United States President Trump stated on Tuesday that if Yemeni Al-Houthi forces imposed a blockade on shipping and energy exports from Saudi Arabia, the United States would “address this issue”. In a meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Own at the White House Elliptical Office that same day, Trump said: “So far, things have not happened, perhaps, but we will take care of them”. He said, “If something like this happens, we will take action. We have taken action against the Al-Houthi forces before, and they have not been heard for some time since we first took measures.”
