The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused the United States of violating the memorandum of understanding

On 9 July, the spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Baghae, stated that the United States had violated the framework of the memorandum of understanding between the two parties by questioning the terms of safe passage for ships in the Strait of Hormuz and by committing “aggressive attacks” against Iran.
