Agency: 56 per cent increase in AI capital expenditure from $497 billion in 2026

On 22 July, according to the research company IDC, the AI infrastructure expenditure in the first quarter of 2026 amounted to $89.7 billion, and the hang-up GPU server based on the Arm structure replaced x86 processors as the mainstream accelerated computing platform. IDC also revised the AI infrastructure expenditure forecast upwards to $497.0 billion for the full year of 2026, an increase of nearly 56 per cent over the same period, largely as a result of capital expenditure growth by super-large cloud service providers and the emerging non-GPU-type AI demand. The global AI infrastructure market will reach $1 trillion in 2029 to reach $1.08 trillion and climb to $1.21 trillion in 2030, with a five-year complex annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 30 per cent from 2025。
