Report: The encryption industry contributed $55 billion to the United States economy, directly employing 34,000 people

On 23 July, the National Encryption Money Association of the United States released a report that the United States encryption industry directly employs 34,000 people; the total number of jobs is approximately 232,000, taking into account jobs supported by the supplier industry and the consumption of associated practitioners. The report predicts that the industry will contribute more than $55 billion to US GDP in 2026, of which about $31 billion will flow to the workforce in the form of labour income. Of the 232,000 supported jobs, about 75,000 came from the supplier industry and 123,000 were driven by household consumption by the workers concerned. These figures are based on the multiplier effect of input output models and do not represent the number of people directly employed by encryption companies. Of the 34,000 direct jobs, the largest number of software, block chains and data engineering jobs was about 10,100. In terms of geographical distribution, the States of California and New York supported 57,649 and 53,766 posts, respectively, for a total of more than 111,000 posts, and approximately 26,536 in Texas. The report defines 12 U.S. peri-states as supporting approximately 17,000 jobs. The report was commissioned and funded by the National Cyprus Association and analysed by the Pragmatic Policy Group. The estimates are based on the United States Bureau of Economic Analysis ' s 2024 input output table and $23.22 billion in income data for the encryption industry, and the occupational structure and industry map contains model assumptions。
