Korea Future Assets Group 133.4 billion won acquisition of encryption platform Korbit was approved

On 9 July, the Korea Fair Trading Commission, the Korea regulatory agency, announced that it had approved the acquisition of 92.06 per cent of the shares of the Korea Encrypted Currency Exchange Korbit under the future asset advice (Mirae Asset Consulting) for approximately 133.4 billion won, which is also known to be the first acquisition of a virtual asset exchange by a traditional Korean financial group. The KFTC also published data on market share of the Korea Encrypted Currency Exchange in 2025, of which: Upbit accounted for approximately 69%, Bithumb 28%, Coinone about 2%, Korbit about 0.5%, Gopax about 0.1%。
