IBM WILL ACQUIRE HRL LABORATORIES TO BOOST QUANTUM FUTURES

On 23 July, IBM announced today that a final agreement had been signed to acquire HRL Laboratories, LLC, the flagship research and development agency. HRL is a private company jointly owned by Boeing and General Motors. Upon completion of the transaction, Boeing and Universal will continue to work with IBM on quantum applications and advanced technology development. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed and the IBM acquisition of HRL was subject to the transaction terms of the practice and regulatory approval. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2026。
