Dealer's commitment to the ECB's interest rate hike remains unchanged at 48 basis points by the end of the year
The ECB maintained the interest rate at 2.25 per cent, in line with market expectations, and traders maintained their bets on the September hike. Since the resolution was issued, there has been little change in euro area government bonds, with Germany ' s two-year sovereign debt return rising by 2.86 per cent. The swap contracts show that the market expects the ECB to increase interest rates by 24 basis points in September, while the possibility of an additional 25 basis points by the end of the year is almost 100%.
