KOREA PROPOSES TO INCREASE THE MINIMUM CASH SECURITY REQUIREMENT FOR ETFS IN ADVANCE

On 24 July, according to Korean media, the Korea Financial Regulatory Authority is working on a plan to move forward the single-leverage ETF minimum guarantee, which was scheduled to take effect next month, to the end of this month. This was seen as a response to President Lee's call for the speedy implementation of the single-leverage ETF supplement. According to information from the financial and investment community, the Korea Financial and Investment Association held a working-level meeting on 21 October with IT personnel from securities companies and related institutions such as the Korea Exchange and Korea Securities Calculator Koscom to discuss the implementation of the single stock leverage ETF system. It is alleged that the financial regulatory authorities are considering moving forward the minimum bond increase plan, which was scheduled for early next month, to the end of this month. However, with regard to the specific time of implementation and the manner of application, the regulatory authority will make the final decision。
