LG Innotek will invest $1 billion in the construction of a semiconductor base plate in Vietnam

On 9 July, LG Group subsidiary LG Innotek, a Korean manufacturer of electronic components, had obtained an investment registration certificate issued by the Viet Nam Maritime Defense Economic Zone Management Committee (HEZA), which would invest $1 billion in the construction of a new semiconductor base for the DeEP C Sea Defense 2 Industrial Park in the maritime defence free trade area. The plant, which is expected to cover approximately 33 hectares, is scheduled to begin construction in the third quarter of this year and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of next year。
