A major breakthrough in the brain interface: retina chips are allowed to be listed in Europe to help people regain their eyesight

On 25 July, Science Corp., an American start-up company, was authorized to sell a retinal chip in the European Union area that would help to restore partial vision to patients with “map atrophy” (GA). This was the first time that the United States Brain Interface (BCI) had pushed the equipment to the patient ' s market on a large scale and was an important milestone in the company ' s move towards commercialization of the brain interface, with the long-term goal of moving the brain implant to the market. According to Science Corp., its PRIMA brain system is a new type of luminous sub-retina implant with specialized glasses. The glasses are ejected close to infrared light into the implant and converted to an electric irritation signal, so that the patient can magnify the text. The implant is extremely thin and allows for seamless wireless integration。
