CVM: Further increase the penalties for securities futures offences degrees
On 25 July, at a recent seminar on practical aspects of the trial of securities futures crimes, the Chief Counsel and Director of the Rule of Law Department of the CVM noted that the establishment of the criminal law and order in our capital market had been very successful and had played an important role. The high-quality development of the capital market had to be accompanied by criminal legislation and judicial escorts; it had to be made more aware of the high-profile, professional, covert, inter-market-related crime, the high-profile nature of new types of criminal offences and the combination of administrative and criminal attributes; it had to be further strengthened by increasing the penalties for securities futures offences, improving market performance mechanisms, strengthening day-to-day regulatory enforcement, strengthening the focus on serious securities futures offences, deepening the interface between administrative law enforcement and criminal justice, furthering the development of a criminal legal system adapted to the characteristics of the capital market, deepening professional research into the overall characteristics of securities futures offences, and building the rule of law foundation for the high-quality development of capital markets.
