Prime Minister: This visit to the United States aimed at understanding the President's thoughts on Iran

On 26 July, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated in an interview that the conflict between Israel and Iran would end only when the current regime in Iran collapsed or was completely weakened until forced to abandon its nuclear programme. He stressed that Iran's nuclear programme must be terminated “whether or not agreement has been reached”. In connection with the planned meeting with United States President Trump, Netanyahu stated that the focus of the meeting was not on the transmission of new information, as the military and intelligence services of the United States and Israel were working closely together. He claimed that the purpose of the trip was to discuss and understand Trump ' s ideas, and that to a large extent the evolution of the situation depended on Trump ' s final decision. In addition, Netanyahu commented on the United States-USA. He endorsed the statement by Trump that “Saudi Arabia can only obtain a civil nuclear agreement” and stressed that the United States and the United States must not allow Saudi nuclear programmes of a military nature. Netanyahu also indicated that he would “absolutely” attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York in September. (In Russian)
