U.S. federal deficit was about $1.4 trillion nine months before 2026
On 10 July, according to the June 2026 Monthly Budget Review, published by the Budget Office of the United States Congress, the United States federal budget deficit totalled approximately $1.4 trillion in the first nine months of 2026, an increase of $35 billion over the same period of the previous fiscal year. During the same period, federal revenues amounted to $4.2 trillion, an increase of $142 billion, or 4 per cent, and expenditures to $5.5 trillion, an increase of $178 billion, or 3 per cent.
