Vitalik: Diamond iO explores a new paradigm of "invisible" or promotes a new phase of privacy computing

On 29 July, Vitalik Buterin, a co-founder of the Taifeng, published an updated article on new techniques of complication of passwords, Diamond iO. The technology is designed to address the indistinguishable traditional confusion programmes, which are inefficient, so that the programmes can operate in a way that hides internal logic and key data. While traditional iO technology has a strong ability to protect privacy, operating costs are so high that it is almost impossible to do so, Diamond iO has improved computing efficiency from "cosmic-scale time-consuming" to "planet-scale time-consuming" by introducing new and more radical cosmological assumptions, closer to actual application. Diamond iO is built on technologies such as Attribute Encryption (ABE) and Full-Same Encryption (FHE) to enable the user to perform the encrypted program and get the correct output by encrypting the program without being able to view its internal code or hidden key. The programme introduces new input coding mechanisms and declassification of conditions, reducing computational complexity while ensuring that the logic of the program is hidden. Its core application scenario includes the protection of programs that contain private keys, the achievement of secure software authorizations, the construction of untrusted password services, and block chains and artificial intelligence systems that support stronger privacy protection. However, Diamond iO is still in the early stages of research, and its safety depends on new coding assumptions, including All-Produc LWE and Evasive LWE, which require more research validation. At the same time, the technology continues to face efficiency challenges such as high costs of computing and circuit depth limitations. The researchers believe that the future of Diamond iO is expected to be an important direction for promoting operationalization to confuse technological development by optimizing the bottom Hashi function, improving the same-state encryption programme and reducing security parameter requirements。
