The United States Organization of Credit Unions supports the CIA Act, but calls for tightening the provisions to stabilize currency gains
On 29 July, according to Eleanor Trerett, the American Association of Credit Unions (America's Credit Unions), a coalition of 50 state credit unions in the United States, expressed support for much of the CLARITY Act, but raised concerns about the provisions of the Act to stabilize currency gains. The organization indicated that the current Tillis-Alsobrooks compromise could still allow “functionally passive” incentive mechanisms, leading to the transfer of deposits from local credit unions to stable currency-related products, and urged the Senate to further strengthen the relevant provisions. Previously, Rodney Hood, former Chairman of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), stated that credit unions would play an important role in the modernization of the financial system。
