President USSEC: Optimistic about Congress's adoption of Clarity Act
On 29 July, Paul Atkins, Chairman of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), stated that he was optimistic about Congress's adoption of the CIATY Act and that the SEC was assisting Congress in moving the bill forward, including by answering questions and providing technical assistance. CLARITY Act aims to establish a clearer regulatory framework for digital assets for the United States encryption market. The bill has been passed in the House of Representatives and is currently before the Senate. Atkins indicated that legislation was the way to make the relevant rules permanent; in the event that Congress failed to complete the legislation, SEC was ready to develop rules to deal with other aspects of the market structure and encryption of the CLARITY Act。
