glassnode: BTC's mood for options has turned positive

On 18 July, glassnode data showed that BTC options were gradually turning positive. As prices rebounded, the BTC Implied Volatility Index DVOL was reduced from 48 to 40, indicating that the panic premium accumulated in June was partly falling, although the current volatility was still above the lower point in May, which meant that market uncertainty had eased, but had not completely receded. At the same time, the BTC default Put/Call ratio has been reduced to about 0.59, a six-month low, indicating that traders are significantly reducing down-strings and re-establishing viewing openings. According to Glassnode, this change reflects a constructive improvement in the mood of the options market. In terms of the silo structure, the BTC currently hovers around $63,000, still below the low-intensity Gamma area of $68,000 to $70,000. If prices go further into the zone, they may trigger a more pro-cyclical hedge of the market and magnify market volatility。

Crude oil futures are rising as the situation in the Middle East warms

The crude oil futures are rising because of concerns about the warming of the situation in the Middle East. As the United States expands its military strikes against Iranian targets and Iran attacks on neighbouring Gulf States, crude oil futures recorded double-digit increases this week. Another factor contributing to the warming is the possible action by the Yemeni Al-Houthi forces to block Red Sea shipping, which Saudi Arabia has been diverting from its crude oil exports to the Red Sea in the context of the closing of the Strait of Hormuz. In a report, Barclay Analyst Amarpreet Singh states: “As stocks are at their lowest level in recent years and most of the strategic oil reserves released have ended, the situation surrounding the Strait's `red line' is warming again, posing a significant upward risk to energy prices. In the present situation, we believe that the possible impact of the oil market on stocks remains too minor.”

The CEO of Trezor responded to the hardware wallet security dispute

In response to the chain investigator ZachXBT's assertion that the hardware wallet was “total waste”, CEO Trezor's Danny Sanders stated that software or solidware upgrades could indeed affect urgent and large transactions, but that this criticism was directed primarily at professional users who managed large-scale assets and should not negate all hardware wallets. ZachXBT had previously recommended the use of a stand-alone iPhone to store and sign a transaction. According to Sanders, independent iPhone could be part of an advanced security programme, but its Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular network and iMessage features would also increase the security of hardware wallets for ordinary users by isolating private keys and verifying transaction information on independent screens. Roman Storm, co-founder of Tornado Cash, was more in agreement with the ZachXBT proposal and called for mobile wallets to support BIP39 additional passwords and offline signatures。
