
According to a regulatory document on Tuesday, Cantor Equity Partners (CEP) disclosed a purchase worth $458.7 million bitcoin BTC $104,098.74, part of an unsolved merger with Twenty One Capital, a BTC-focused investment tool supported by Tether, Bitfinex and Soft Silver.
The document shows that the transaction was constructed through a complex business merger involving the parent companies Tether Investments and Bitfinex, a subsidiary of El Salvador, which stabilizes currency distributor Tether. As part of the transaction, Tether purchased approximately 4,812 BTCs at an average price of US$95,319 in tokens that were subsequently sold to the merged company.
The block chain data show that the trust wallet disclosed in the file received a token on 9 May from the Bitfinex hot wallet. According to Arkham, at current prices, the wallet is worth $500 million in bitcoin holdings.
Twenty One Capital was launched by Howard Lutnick, the son of the United States Secretary of Commerce and Chairman of Cantor Fitzgerald, through the Canada Partnership structure. The company will be headed by Chief Executive Officer Strike Jack Mallers, and will be owned by the majority of shares of iFinex, the parent company of Tether and Bitfinex. Two companies say that soft silver will hold a large minority share.
The company indicated that it planned to have over 42,000 BTCs at the time of publication.
The CEP share price increased by 3.7 per cent in post-card transactions.
