The Mayor of the City of New York announced on 23 April that the City's first encryption summit would be held next month, an important step in the city's lead strategy in the digital finance sector. The event, scheduled for 20 May, will bring together prominent figures from the fields of encrypted money, block chains and financial technology to explore how digital innovation can act as an engine for economic growth and technological progress.
According to the city's announcement, “Participants will include prominent founders, CEOs and investors from the encrypted currency, block chains and financial technology industry to explore how this growing industry can promote the economy, attract the best talent and stimulate innovation in New York City. The announcement adds:
Guests expected to attend managed over $1 trillion in assets that Mayor Adams wanted to take to New York City.
The initiative reflects Adams ' ongoing efforts to create a global hub for emerging technologies in New York City. The list of participants is not yet available.
The Mayor of New York City is well known for converting his first three salaries into bitcoin and Taifeng. “New York is the centre of the world, and we want it to be the centre of encrypted monetary and other financial innovations.”
The upcoming summit in New York City reflects the growing national importance of digital assets, following the White House digital asset summit in March. The event, co-chaired by Chief Technical Officer Fraser, will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will aim to promote cooperation between the public and private sectors, while attracting the best talent to maintain the city ' s leading position in innovation and economic inclusion. At the same time, the Attorney General of New York State, Leticia James, has stepped up his call for comprehensive federal encryption legislation, pointing to an increase in fraud, and for Congress to require encryption companies to register and enforce stable currency reserve standards.
