Strategy's latest SEC document shows that the company sold 3,588 bitcoin last week, with an estimated $216 million. The funds were used mainly to replenish the United States dollar reserve and to provide financial support for the distribution of priority units.
The holding tanks dropped to 84.38 million.
The company disclosed that, following the sale, its total hold of bitcoin was reduced to 843,775. Strategy has been known for a long period of sustained growth in bitcoin, and this disclosure shows that the company started to meet its financial arrangements by selling part of the hold.
As disclosed, the proceeds of the sale were not used for the new investment plan, but rather to replenish the United States dollar reserves that had previously been used to cover the distribution of priority shares. As at 5 July, Strategy ' s dollar reserve was 25.5 billion dollars.
Funds allocated to priority units
The company stated that the proceeds of the sale would be used to pay for the distribution of priority shares and to make up the United States dollar position used for this purpose. This means that Strategy, while maintaining a large bitcoin hold, is also responding to cash requirements through more proactive asset transfers.
The sale, although modest in scale compared to its total holdings, was of interest to the market against the background of the company ' s consistent emphasis on long-term holding of bitcoin. The market will also continue to observe whether it will continue to do so after the release of the relevant information.
- Sale: 3,588 BTC
- Cash pool: approximately $216 million
- Remaining hold: 843,775 BTC
The dollar reserve has risen to $2.55 billion.
The document shows that as at 5 July, Strategy ' s United States dollar reserve was $255.0 billion. For a company listed with Bitcoin as its core asset, the level of the United States dollar reserve relates to its dividends and short-term liquidity arrangements.
This disclosure also reflects that, as financing instruments, such as priority shares, advance in parallel, Strategy ' s financial management is no longer just a one-way increase in bitcoin, but also includes a more frequent balance between currency holding and cash.
Additional information:The relevant information for Strategy is from the SEC document submitted on Monday and is an official disclosure of the company.
