The Trump Government has launched a new federal savings scheme for American children. At the White House event on July 6, Trump, when asked whether the new account was likely to hold an encrypted currency in the future, stated that “there is a possibility” and that he is now a supporter of the encrypted asset.
The account was activated in July.
This project is called Trump Accounts. Its official name is 530A, established under “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” and launched on 4 July 2026. According to the article, this type of account is available to each eligible child for a one-time initial federal deposit of $1,000 for children born to United States citizens between 1 January 2025 and 31 December 2028.
Families may add up to $5,000 per year to the account in addition to the initial federal deposit. The funds must be locked until the child reaches the age of 18, after which the account will be converted into a traditional personal retirement account. It was mentioned that the Government had completed initial funding for over 500,000 children on 4 July.
Bitcoin is still out of schedule.
Such accounts carry tax incentives, and value added in the accounts is not taxed on an annual basis in the usual manner. Allowing the allocation of bitcoin in the future means that encrypted assets may enter, for the first time, a long-term savings framework for children supported by the federal Government. Trump did not, however, provide a clear timetable and did not specify the mechanisms for their inclusion.
In its activities, Trump linked its reasons for supporting encrypted assets to the competition in Sino-American technology. He stated that if the United States did not develop encrypted assets, China might dominate. According to the report, Trump also linked artificial intelligence to United States competitiveness on the same occasion.
The existing encryption policy continues to advance.
This statement continues its government ' s policy of encryption since 2025. It was mentioned that Trump had signed an executive order in March 2025 to establish a “strategic bitcoin reserve” and a “United States digital asset reserve”, requiring that bitcoin, which had been confiscated by the Federation, be treated in a way that reserved rather than sold. According to the data, the United States Government currently holds more than 207,000 bitcoins, worth nearly $17 billion.
In addition to the Bitcoin reserve, Trump signed GENIUS Act in 2025 to establish a federal regulatory framework for the payment of stable coins. At the same time, the broader encryption market structure bill, Clarity Act, is still under consideration in Congress, which means that the overall encryption market regulation system in the United States, beyond the stable currency, is still not fully in shape.
The White House event also brought together the United States Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, the President of the United States SEC, Paul Atkins, and the heads of New York and NASDAQ. Michael Dell and Susan Dell also announced on-site that they would provide more than $6 billion in support for the project.
