Hyperliquid states that it is planned to include unlicensed predictive market functions in subsequent HIP-4 upgrades. This feature will be tested on the online line before being pushed to the main network. This means that the result transaction on the platform will now be primarily dominated by the certifying officer, moving towards any user-initiated.

Anyone can start the market.

According to Hyperliquid, future users could deploy their own forecast market contracts on the platform, provided that the template voted by the experienced witnesses was used. The relevant market remains under the control of the certifier until the new function is formally located.

The forecast market allows users to build a warehouse around the outcome of events, and the coverage can be determined from central bank interest rates to sporting and recreational events. This track, currently dominated by Polymarket and Kalshi, has evolved into one of the larger sub-markets in the block chain industry.

HIP-4 has been online in May

HIP-4 was deployed to the main network in May of this year and introduced the "results trade" feature. Hyperliquid now disclosed that the next step would be to open such contracts to external deployments rather than to continue to rely entirely on the creation of the certifying officer.

The Platform stated that even without a licensed contract, the existing certification-controlled market would remain, but the number was expected to be small. Hyperliquid indicates that, ideally, there will be fewer than 10 such markets per year.

Deployment required pledge of 500,000 HYPEs

For up-to-date forecasting of the market, deployments require a pledge of 500,000 HYPEs. If the certifier votes that a market is not well defined or that there is an error in settlement, this portion of the pledge may be forfeited.

Hyperliquid also indicated that those deployed would receive up to 50 per cent of the related transaction fee revenue. Within hours of the release of the news, the hype went up in small pieces, from a low point of 59.88 to above $60.50, which was then reported at $60.79, an increase of about 1 per cent in the day.
