A long-slept ephemeral pre-drilling address has recently been reactivated. The chain tracker Whale Alert showed that the address held 2,000 ETHs at current prices of approximately $3.79 million. The address remained static for 11 years, with an initial funding of only $620.

Early address back and forth.

This is not an isolated incident. At the end of April, another pre-drilling address with 10,000 ETH was re-enacted 10.8 years later. In May, several early address activities were resumed, holding 2,000, 790 and 400 ETH respectively.

In the first few months of this year, Whale Alert also recorded the activation of 401 ETH and 99 ETH sleeping addresses. A similar situation occurred at the early address of Bitcoin, which suggests that the re-linking of the old wallet did not take place only in the Etherwood network.

Bitmine keeps siloing.

While the old address of the chain is frequently awakened, the institution is still buying ETH. Onchain Lens states that Bitmine purchased 7,430 ETH over the past week, raising its total hold to 5.78 million ETH.

The company disclosed that it pledged approximately 4.91 million ETHs and that the value of the Etheum pledge was approximately $10.9 billion, with a total holdings of approximately $11.5 billion, including cash and other assets. At the time of the publication, the ETH price was approximately $1,900 per item.
