The Swedish company Electric and Automatic Truck Einride agreed to purchase the EV Charged Software Starter, Flipturn, which was traded in a full-stock mode, with an estimate of approximately $38 million. The transaction, which is expected to be completed this month, was also the first acquisition since Einride was listed.
Complete charging software capability
Einride is moving forward with the expansion of the electro-weight card business, which will incorporate charging management software into the existing system. The company hopes to provide not only vehicles but also customers with the associated charging operational tools to improve the efficiency and stability of fleet operations.
Flipturn was established in 2022 and has financed $15.5 million. Its core product is an EV charging software platform that can communicate with different brands through open charging point agreements and monitor the state of charging facilities.
The software also integrates data on vehicle battery capacity, traffic records and routes, helps enterprises to arrange charging and access on-site solar and energy storage equipment, and allows fleet operators to manage vehicles and energy in the same system.
United States expansion is the focus.
The CEO of Einride, Roozbeh Charli, stated that the acquisition was a step in the corporate expansion strategy in the United States. As the business moves towards more markets, Einride is also trying to improve vertical integration by packing vehicles, software and charge management to customers.
For enterprises considering the introduction of electric weight cards, charging facilities and dispatch efficiency are often difficult to locate. Einride's acquisition was an attempt to lower the threshold for clients to deploy a convoy.
Existing operations cover multiple-area clients
Einride is concerned about the lack of a driver ' s self-piloted cargo vehicle, but the main revenue for the time being remains from the electric weight truck fleet. The company currently operates some 200 heavy electric trucks, serving customers including Heineken, Pepsi and Kasib Sweden, covering Europe, North America and the United Arab Emirates.
The company landed in NASDAQ in June of this year, following a merger with a special purpose acquisition company. In the recent past, Einride has also acquired the Amazon as a client, although the Amazon does not buy its trucks directly, but is owned and managed by Einride, who then accesss the Relay freight network in the Amazon through its own Saga AI software.
