Business Insider quoted exchange documents and sources as stating that Neuralink, a Mask sub-prime brain interface, had risen to a maximum of $42 billion in recent secondary market transactions. In recent months, the private market research institute Caplight gave an inter-zone showing that the related transactions had been in the range of $29 billion to $42 billion, and that some buyers had even offered prices of close to $60 billion.
This level is significantly higher than the company ' s previous open-source round. According to the report, Neuralink ' s estimate for last year ' s financing was about $9 billion, and now the secondary market offer has risen significantly more than at that time. However, there is no consensus in the market about the price to which the company should correspond, and some investors still have reservations about the high level of engagement.
The valuation lift is related to the heat of the Musk asset.
According to the report, the high valuation of the secondary market in Neuralink reflected the growing interest of investors in non-listed technology companies under the Mask flag. Especially after SpaceX completed its IPO last month, the market's interest in its remaining assets increased, as did buyers willing to pay higher premiums for scarce equity.
According to windstormers, some of their limited partners have been asking how to buy the Neuralink shares and have even been willing to accept high prices. It was also mentioned that Mask had in the past raised the returns of private investors through business integration, which had also reinforced the market's popularity of its associated companies.
Still in the early clinical phase
Neuralink has developed a major brain interface implant with the objective of helping paralysing patients to control their computers with intent and promoting applications such as visual restoration in the longer term. According to data disclosed by the company earlier this year, 21 test participants have now implanted relevant chips.
However, there is currently no clear information on the official valuation of the company and whether a new round of financing is under way. Neuralink also failed to respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.
The latest public investment came from the Oman Sovereign Fund.
The most recent publicly disclosed investment took place in May this year. The sovereign wealth fund of Oman stated at that time that it had invested in Neuralink but did not disclose the valuation of the transaction. On this basis, it was reported that the high valuations currently emerging in the market came more from secondary-market trans-trade than from the latest round of formal pricing by companies.
As the market value of SpaceX rose to about $1.6 trillion, Mask ' s personal assets rose simultaneously. Neuralink, one of its unlisted core technology companies, has also been the object of sustained pursuit by the private market.
