US IRS WARNS ENCRYPTION MONEY-HOLDERS AGAINST FRAUD IN FALSE MAIL, FRAUD ATTEMPTS TO STEAL ASSETS OR DATA

On 31 July, the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) warned the encrypted currency holders that fraudsters were sending forged letters to some taxpayers in an attempt to steal their digital assets or personal data. IRS indicates that part of the false mail induces users to register the so-called Digital Asset Compliance Portal, but the platform does not exist. It reminds taxpayers not to scan the two-dimensional code in the letter, nor to provide information to unknown callers who request payment。
