Trump's second term support rate dropped to a low

On 31 July, a political analyst, Nate Silver, stated that President Trump ' s support rate had fallen to a new low since his second term, owing to the continuation of the unpopular war in Iran and the soaring price of gasoline. He said that “the point of time was highly consistent with gas prices and the resumption of war in Iran”. With the war approaching six months, the American Automobile Association (AAA) data show that the average price of United States gasoline as of Friday morning was about $4.11 per gallon, up from about $3.15 a year ago. As of Friday morning, Trump ' s overall average support rate was 40.6 per cent, with an average non-support rate of 57.5 per cent. A survey by the University of Queenipiac showed that 60 per cent of United States voters opposed the war, the highest since the conflict began on 28 February. Nearly three quarters of the United States indicated that they did not support sending United States troops to Iran. The AP-NORC poll also revealed that 64 per cent of Americans considered the war “not worth it”. Of these, 87 per cent were Democrats, 37 per cent Republicans and 68 per cent independent voters。
