On 1 August, Peck Shield monitored a total of 30 major hacker attacks in the encryption industry in July 2026, resulting in cumulative losses of approximately $210.3 million, an increase of 177.2 per cent over the June ring of $7.587 million. Of these, the COLDARD hardware wallet incident resulted in a loss of approximately $70 million, the third largest theft of encrypted assets since 2026, after the Drift and KelpDAO/LayerZero attacks.
