The U.S. government has advised U.S. citizens in the Middle East to prepare for evacuation

On 2 August, at local time, on 1 August, the United States Department of State issued a wide-ranging security warning to United States citizens in the Middle East region, advising them “to consider leaving the area or preparing for rapid withdrawal as the situation escalates”. On that basis, United States officials revealed that Washington was considering launching a new military strike against Iran as soon as possible this weekend. At the same time, Iran has stated that it will further attack those countries that allow United States troops to be stationed on military bases. The United States Department of State once again cautioned that personnel in the Middle East should be cautious and vigilant, while preparing for the cancellation of flights, temporary closure of airspace and other disruptions to travel. It also stressed that United States citizens planning to travel to the Middle East should seriously reconsider their travel plans. Kim Xian
