Senior Israeli officials stated that they did not agree to stop the attack on Gaza

On 2 August, at local time, on 2 August, the Israeli Security Cabinet member, the Minister of Energy, Elie Cohen, made it clear in an interview the same day that Israel had not agreed to cease its military attacks on the Gaza Strip and that the Security Cabinet had not held any discussions on the so-called “Gaza ceasefire programme” for the past 72 hours. In an interview, Cohen stated that “any armed person involved in or involved in an attack would be eliminated by the Israeli army”. In response to the multiple-driven Gaza ceasefire programme, namely, the plan for the disarmament of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance (Hamas), the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the takeover of the Gaza Strip by the technocratic Government, Cohen claimed that the Israeli side was willing to offer “opportunities” for the success of the plan, but he was not convinced that Hamas would actually disarm.
